The weekend event of the summer, we invite you to be part of an annual Virginia tradition at Philip Carter Winery, celebrating 259 years of wine excellence in Virginia as we enjoy the very best of Virginia craft beverages and incredible foods. Tickets are $12 per person in advance ($15 at the event) and include a taste of 4 wines, 2 ciders, 1 mead, and a souvenir wine glass.

Additional Event Details:

All participants in the tasting must be aged 21+. On the day of the event, please be prepared with valid identification at our check-in table.

This event is rain or shine and predominantly outside. We recommend dressing for the weather and wearing comfortable shoes as seating will be limited.

Winemaker’s Pairing Dinner Series: Virginia Piedmont’s Harvest Flavors

Join us for our third and final wine dinner among the vines this year on October 16th at Philip Carter Winery. We are proud to team up with the finest purveyor of locally crafted foods in the area, Orlean Market, for our 3rd wine diners as a part of the Winemaker’s Pairing Dinner Series! Get your tickets for Saturday, October 16th for a Gourmet Food and WINE experience with our winemaker, Tony McDonnell!

The dinner will begin at 5:30 pm and features pairing selections for 5 of our wines presented at stations set among the vineyard!

The Menu

For the second in our “Winemaker’s Pairing Series, Shane and Tony have decided to highlight the great grape varieties of Virginia. Nowhere else in the world is there such a diverse range of grape varieties that thrive as in Virginia. The wines for this event include both Vinifera varieties and hybrids. Shane incorporated local and seasonal ingredients to further highlight the bounty that is Virginia agriculture.
