2011 Chardonnay
'11
Chardonnay
is a blend of oak and stainless steel-aged wine,
retaining substantial fruit, while adding mouthfeel and
complexity. Apple and pear are succeeded by a creamy
and weighty mid-palate, resulting from malolactic
fermentation and sur lies aging. Subtle caramel
and a refreshing acidity bring this wine into balance.

2012 Gov.
Fauquier
’12 Gov. Fauquier
is an off-dry wine, coming in at 1%
residual sugar, made from Vidal Blanc. The wine was
done entirely in stainless steel, to retain its
pleasant, fruit-forward nature. The nose is reminiscent
of a blooming orchard, with plenty of floral aromas.
Upon tasting, citrus, melon and apple refresh the
palate. Acid and sugar harmonize in this wine, making
it perfect for a pig roast, seafood or an afternoon on
the patio!

2012 Rosewell
'12
Rosewell
is made from Tinta Cão and is named after
the lavish Rosewell mansion started by Mann Page, who
married one of Robert Carter’s fifteen children, Judith
Carter. Construction began in 1725 and the building
stood overlooking the York River until 1916, when it
burned to ruins. This beautiful wine falls nothing
short of its predecessor exhibiting a lively floral nose
of roses and geranium, followed by bright strawberry, a
refreshing acidity and a surprisingly weighty
mid-palate. The lingering finish on this dry rosé is
reminiscent of grapefruit and pomegranate.

2011 Cabernet Franc
’11 Cabernet Franc
is a blend of 81% Cabernet Franc, 10%
Petit Verdot, and 9% Tannat. This is a delicate Cabernet
Franc aged 9 months in French and American Oak. Red
cherry, red raspberry and plum, bolstered by green
pepper, yield to a silky, mildly tannic, toffee finish.
Enjoy this light-bodied wine in its youth, and pair it
like a Pinot Noir!

2010 Cleve
’10 Cleve
is a 50/50 blend of Petit Verdot and
Tannat. Longevity was the goal with this wine by
blending both esteemed Bordeaux and Madiran/Cahors
varieties. This robust wine was aged in French and
American oak, marrying the subtlety of French oak and
the more primary, intense whiskey barrel flavors
prevalent in American oak, which will integrate with
time. Gentle fining was done with egg whites as a
tribute to “old world” wine coupled with the creativity
of contemporary blending. The nose of this wine is
represented with violet, black cherry and smoky cedar.
Upon tasting the wine, black current and plum are
initially prevalent but give way to black tea and dark
chocolate, coupled with the dusty tannins that beg for
years in the bottle

“Cleve is a reflection of the very best that
Virginia has to offer, and is produced only during
exceptional vintages. By blending Petit Verdot and
Tannat, both esteemed Bordeaux and Madiran/Cahors
varieties that grow well in Virginia, we can produce
a full-bodied red wine that rivals the complexity
and structure of the best Zinfandels of California
or Malbecs of Argentina. Both grapes are ideally
suited for the terroir of Virginia and hold great
promise in shaping the future of Virginia’s red
wines.” – Philip Carter Strother, Founder & CEO

pays homage to Porto. Made from
the versatile, fruit-forward Chambourcin grape, this
wine was aged in bourbon whiskey barrels from the A.
Smith Bowman Distillery to exacerbate the ripe,
oxidative and high alcohol style of this English
favorite. Rounding out at 5.5% residual sugar and 18%
alcohol,
try pairing with
Roquefort
or Stilton cheese, or if you so desire, it is also the
