“Philip Carter Winery”

Philip Carter Winery a Virginia Award winning winery with a spectacular selection of white wines. The optimal location experienced staff and beautiful weather made for a great 4th of July celebration. If you are in the northern Virginia area make the trip and consider the wine club… excellent value.

“Love this winery, the history, and the land”

As a descendent of Charles “King” Carter, this winery is very close to my heart, as it has my family crest all over the bottles, the glasses, and the building itself. It’s situated on 17 acres of gorgeous land and makes for a very relaxing afternoon sipping wine out on the patio or out by the vineyards. We had a tour and tasting, which was held throughout the grounds and in the private tasting room (probably the best part!) and were given a picnic basket with crackers and cheeses to enjoy with our wine. It was lovely and romantic, and we could’ve stayed all day. A wonderful representation of my family’s wine history and the delicious wines they feature.

“Small quaint winery”

I visited Phillip carter with a group of 8 friends. I had purchases a travelzoo voucher for a tasting and picnic. The tasting had a good variety. Everyone had something they enjoyed. The picnic baskets were small – a hunk of cheese, hunk of sausage, half sleeve of ritz crackers and a tiny jelly – for each 2 people. I had read other reviews and new that luckily and brought more food. We had a noon tasting and when we arrived it was very quiet. We practically had the whole outdoor tent to ourselves, which was wonderful! By the time we were leaving (2:30 or 3), it was much busier and all the shady tables were taken. If you want shade arrive early!! It’s dog and kid friendly. There was live music which was nice! The peach sangria was amazing! It’s made with local peaches but strangely not with their wine. It was really good though! Overall beautiful, nice views, good wine and fun!!

“Perfect Winery”

This winery is one of the most tranquil and beautiful ones — small/medium sized with excellent wine that could be compared to these of Italian wines (my friends from Italy have mentioned that). Welcoming staff and picturesque views — perfect for a nice picnic.

“Always feel welcome at Philip Carter Winery!”

As members of the Philip Carter Winery club our views may be different than others, but every person we recommend to Philip Carter Winery loves it. Great selection of wines…tasting menu changes with the seasons as does the decorating in the tasting room. Lots to do for the family.
